"My child began receiving extra support in math during first grade, and the intervention made a world of difference. It helped him strengthen his foundational math skills while also boosting his confidence. I’m incredibly appreciative that this small group intervention was available to support his growth."

"SchoolCARE is an invaluable partner, providing all Albany schools with resources to hire dedicated staff who directly support our students and community. We've been fortunate to fill a math intervention and community community coordinator position with the support of SchoolCARE this year."

“As Superintendent, I deeply appreciate SchoolCARE’s dedication to empowering potential, building community, and inspiring excellence. Their efforts ensure every contribution supports staff positions that enrich our students’ education. Together, we’re creating a vibrant community where all students can thrive." -Sara Stone

“Denise Schwab, Cornell Elementary's Wellness Coordinator, has been a wonderful addition to our school community. She has done a great amount of work creating a Wellness Space and coordinating with teachers "mini field trips" to the Wellness Space, so that kids become familiar with her, her role, and this awesome new space for students. So many students are benefitting from this space and Denise's work with them.”
- Catherine Floresca (Principal - Cornell Elementary) |
"I’m so grateful that Cornell provides math intervention for students who are struggling. When I noticed my son was having difficulty understanding basic math concepts, I was worried we might need to find an after-school tutor. It was such a relief when his teacher referred him to the small group math intervention program. He was able to receive the specialized instruction he needed right at school, alongside some of his friends."

Learn about what we fund!
Our spotlights page is filled with stories about the positions Albany SchoolCARE uses your donations to fund. We fill the gap between what the state provides and the crucial positions to allow Albany kids to thrive. We work closely alongside schools to target funding to individual site needs and the needs of the community. |
Funding goal!
Albany SchoolCARE currently has a funding goal (for the 2025-2026 school year) of $300,000. We need this crucial funding to continue the work we do with the district and to continue to fund these crucial positions. Our recommended amount, per kid in the AUSD school district is $500 a year, or $40 per month, but any amount helps. Please consider chipping in and doing your part today! |
